How to Grant Permissions in your Xiaomi or TCL Device
Prey for Android requires the app to run in the background at any time in order to gather location data and perform actions from your panel. While most Android devices will automatically request all necessary permissions, Xiaomi devices need additional permissions that to be granted manually. To do so, you can follow this step-by-step:
Access the Native Security App
Go to the "Manage Apps" Section
Select "Prey" From the List and Toggle Autostart to ON
Tap "ok" on the battery usage warning.
Allow Prey to Display Pop-ups While Running in the Background
Make sure the highlighted "Display pop-up windows while running in the background" option is activated by tapping on it. The next pop-up should be set to "Always allow."
Go to the Battery Settings in the Security App
There, select Prey from the app list, and make sure that the option "No Restrictions" is selected, as per the screenshot below.
And that's it! Your device will now be able to execute all actions sent from the control panel. If you require any assistance with this process, or have any questions regarding your Prey account or how Prey can help you, don't hesitate to contact our support team to help@preyproject.com.
