How to Grant Permissions in your Huawei Device

Prey for Android requires the app to run in the background at any time in order to gather location data and perform actions from your panel. While most Android devices will automatically request all necessary permissions, Huawei devices need additional permissions that need to be granted manually. To do so, you can follow these instructions:

Access the native Optimizer app

Go to the battery section

It will show as time left of battery power, as per the image above.

Select the App launch section

Scroll the list until you find Prey

Make sure Prey is toggled to Manage Manually, and then click on it.

Grant the necessary permissions

Auto-launch, Secondary launch and Run in background should all be toggled to on. Then tap OK.
